Just returned from a week at the Sandals Antigua Grande Resort and Spa

Just received this note from a very happy couple…

Just a note to say WOW! Thank you Rogers Travel for booking our vacation in Paradise. Let me tell you about one of the most beautiful islands on earth, Sandals Grande Antigua takes the natural beauty, adds romance and comes up with the perfect escape where you can’t help but to totally relax.

We travel the day after a nor'easter hit New York, where the wind, cold rain and flooding crippled most of the area, to a place where the sun-shined bright for seven days. We were greeted at the airport, escorted to our transportation, whisked off and arrive on 15 minutes later at a grand entrance, handed champagne and escorted to our room.

The room took our breath away; you enter on one side of the building with a view of downtown St. John’s the capital of Antigua, and then immediately are amazed at the tile in the large suite bathroom, with double sinks, whirlpool tub and glass shower enclosure. Then you enter the main part of the room where you are stuck by the accommodations: the four poster bed, concierge bar, entertainment unit with large flat screen, sitting area and then a balcony where you could see over the entire resort. This photo is the view from our room.

As we explored the rest of the resort during the week, we found each room nicer then the next. There are 18 different types of room so you can get exactly what you want. Next time we are looking at a Plunge Pool Villa; with its own pool and hot tub, outside shower, bedroom and living room and maybe two weeks.

The food was fabulous, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and cocktails were all available no matter what your schedule. Our favorite meal was - sunset at Eleanor’s and the Lobster. Don’t worry about ordering too much food the portions are not large so you can enjoy an appetizer, salad, soup, entrée and dessert and be only slightly stuffed. But then there is always entertainment and dancing to enjoy after dinner that will possibly help you work off your meal.

If dancing isn't your thing, we really enjoyed a early morning walk on the beach, swimming, the gym, kayaking, the best sight-seeing tour of Antigua [that is really it's name] and snorkeling. Remember to pack light, bring plenty of sunscreen and a sunhat if you are like us and fair skinned, and have Rogers Travel book your trip to paradise, they really knew exactly what we wanted and needed.
